Burnley are considered as one of the dark horses for the Championship play-offs this season. Their defender Kieran Trippier has also voiced this dream of the club. The club have begun the new season under the management of Sean Dyche in the best possible way. They have had a brilliant pre-season, while they seem to have continued the form into the actual season itself. They have four points from the opening two matches of the season, while they have also managed a stunning victory over York city in the Capital One Cup.
Burnley will be taking on Yeovil town during the weekend, and Sean Dyche has expressed his desire to see the team continued their unbeaten run. This is also the desire of defender Trippier as well. Trippier has said that the manager, who took over from Eddie Howe last season, has made the club an incredibly tough team to beat. Since he took over the team from mid-season, this is the first pre-season that they had with their new manager. They have received a lot of new ideas, which are helping them to be much better on the pitch according to the 22-year-old.
Eddie Howe has said that pre-season was especially tough because the manager wanted all the players to be in the best possible shape.
“It’s the first pre-season that the manager has had with us. He’s done his thing and everyone’s looking fit and sharp. I bet it was hard for him when he first came in. He wanted to do his own thing and improve us defensively, because that’s what we struggled with last year. He tightened everything up. But I bet it’s been good for him to get his first pre-season under his belt with the players. To go away to Ireland especially was good,” said the 22-year-old.
