It has been a brutal week for a Spurs fan. They win their game by beating Southampton 2-0 alright, but two incidents kept the supporters wondering. The first incident was in Madrid, where Kieran Trippier had a stunning performance and was among the best performers of the Madrid derby. In contrast, in England, his replacement Serge Aurier got two yellow cards and was asked to leave the pitch within the first 30 minutes of the game that left fans in fumes and they sent messages to now Atletico Madrid star Trippier to ‘Come Back’.
Since arrival, Trippier has been a fan favorite in Wanda Metropolitano. He has been impressive in the draw in the Madrid derby. He also played superbly and set up a goal against Juventus in the Champions League recently. He is seemingly happy in the new club. In his own words, he is happy to play for a bigger club and under better coach Diego Simeone. According to him, he “Didn’t have to think twice” about the switch. He told that when the offer come the lure of joining a bigger club was too much and he chooses to make the move.
Atletico Madrid signed him in the summer for an undisclosed amount, which is rumored to be 19 million pounds. He is proving himself to worth more than that.
